*[[ Etching. À la poupée technique used. Light colored pencil on the top. Never could be a purist with anything. ]]*
Recently my loving pet after seventeen years, Choo Choo, passed away. She was found to have cancer and we didn't want her to suffer anymore. It feels so odd to not have her curl up on my lap as I work on projects.
This art piece was modeled after my kitty about 6-8 months ago. So in honor of my Midnight Choo Choo I present "Connect"
I really love the colors on this. I can't believe the smooth gradient you got with just those two colors! Not to mention i always love the flowiness of your pieces.
Might I ask more about the technique you used? I've never heard of it before.
À la poupée is where you add the paint directly to the copper plate (I used actual brushes and a cloth for blotting instead of a roller) before running it through the press. Great way to add many colors without having individual plates and its fun.
I'm so sorry I lost my cat too, this summer. she had some problem with her stomach and then she stopped to eat and we found out that she had more chance to die than to live. I know it's hard and I hope you'll feel better soon
amazing art by the way. the colors are so beautiful, as the details.
